Our Programs
Our program features specially designed curriculum and purposely small class sizes to help dancers build their skills, confidence, and artistic expression.
A session based program that meets once a week for 30 minutes. In this class, our youngest dancers learn how to be in a classroom setting, follow directions, and work on gross motor skills in preparation for our ECD program.
Classes in the Early Childhood Dance Program are grouped into age-specific levels for 3-7 years olds. These classes meet once a week and last 45 minutes.
The heart of the Academy is, of course, Ballet. Students are divided into five levels, starting at age seven.
Yuma Ballet Academy offers something for all levels during the summer months of June & July.
Four progressive levels teach dance vocabulary in a less structured environment than a classical ballet class. Improvisation and individual creativity are also explored.
The Academy offers a basic ballet class for adults once or twice a week depending on interest. Teens 14 years old and up are also welcome to take this class.
Artistic Leadership
Owner and Director Catherine Field
Catherine Field started dancing at Yuma Ballet Academy when she was just five years old, training under Kathleen Sinclair. After graduating, Catherine transitioned from student to teacher at the academy. Mentored by Sinclair, she discovered a true love for teaching, focusing on helping young dancers build great technique while discovering their own artistic voice. Catherine believes that dance is all about connection, and she works hard to give her students a strong foundation so they can truly connect with their audience.
Academy Policies
Our policies support a respectful, structured, and enriching environment.
